Communication students from Colombia and Ecuador strengthen academic exchange ties

A group of 22 students from Universidad Autónoma de Occidente (UAO) in Cali, Colombia, and Universidad Hemisferios, participated in an enriching international academic outing. The main objective of this visit was to immerse themselves in the Ecuadorian media ecosystem, learn about the dynamics of the market and establish collaborative ties between the two institutions.

During their stay in Ecuador, the students had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Colombian Embassy, where they deepened diplomatic relations between the two countries. They also visited important local media outlets, large companies such as República del Cacao and Pronaca, and emblematic tourist sites such as the historic center of Quito.

One of the highlights of this experience was the visit to our natural reserve "Hemisferios Biodiversity Reserve", located in Cosanga, where the students were able to appreciate the natural wealth of the country and learn about the conservation and research efforts that we carry out in the region.

This academic exchange allowed the students:

  • Expand their knowledge: Through visits to media outlets, companies and organizations, students were able to learn first-hand about the challenges and opportunities of the communication sector in Ecuador.
  • Networking: Interaction with industry professionals and students from Hemisferios University allowed students to establish networks of contacts that may be useful for their future careers.
  • Strengthen inter-institutional ties: This exchange helped strengthen ties between Universidad Autónoma de Occidente and Universidad Hemisferios, fostering academic and cultural collaboration.

Hemisferios University is proud to have hosted this academic exchange and hopes that this experience has been enriching for all participants.
