UHE provides first aid training

The University Life Development Department of Hemisferios University (UHE) reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and safety of its community by conducting a practical workshop on wound treatment as part of its first aid training series.

The event, which took place at the UHE facilities, was led by Dr. Iván Ruiz, director of the Nursing career, and counted with the valuable collaboration of Alejandra Proaño, nurse of the institution. Both experts shared their knowledge and experience to provide participants with the necessary tools to act effectively in emergency situations related to wounds.

Topics

The workshop covered a wide range of topics, from identifying and classifying different types of wounds to applying proper healing techniques. Participants learned how to clean and disinfect wounds, stop bleeding, apply dressings and recognize signs of infection. In addition, specific care measures for at-risk situations, such as burn, bite or sharps wounds, were addressed.

"At Hemisferios University, we care about the safety and well-being of our community," said Dr. Ruiz. "This workshop is a demonstration of our commitment to provide them with the necessary tools to act effectively in emergency situations and protect their health."

For her part, Alejandra Proaño stressed the importance of first aid training for everyday life. "Injuries can happen anytime, anywhere," she noted. "Knowing how to act appropriately can make the difference between a quick recovery and serious complications."

The UHE initiative was received with great enthusiasm by the participants, who valued the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills useful for their personal and professional lives.

  • Apply a bandage: Cover the wound with a clean bandage to protect it from dirt and germs.
  • Watch the wound: Observe the wound regularly for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, warmth or pus.
  • Seek medical attention: If the wound is deep, bleeding heavily or shows signs of infection, seek medical attention immediately.
