UHE's School of Law, Political Science and International Relations hosted an enriching workshop on. "Foreign Policy: Challenges and Opportunities", given by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Játiva.given by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Játiva. The event brought together students, professors and experts in the field, generating a space for dialogue and analysis on the international panorama and the role of Ecuador.
The discussion provided an in-depth and detailed analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing the country in the international arena. Vice Minister Carlos Játiva, with his vast experience and knowledge, guided the participants through a historical tour of international relations, highlighting the key moments that have shaped the current scenario.


One of the central points of the discussion was the analysis of the dynamics and challenges posed by the contemporary international scenario, since issues such as globalization, multipolarity, geopolitical conflicts, climate change and international cooperation were addressed. In addition, the Vice Minister emphasized the importance of Ecuador developing a strategic and proactive foreign policy that allows it to defend its interests and take advantage of the opportunities that arise.
"It is essential that as a country we understand the complexities of the international scenario and that we are able to adapt to the changes." "Our foreign policy must be based on solid principles, such as respect for international law, the promotion of peace and cooperation, and the defense of our national interests," the Vice Minister noted.
The workshop also included an analysis of the main challenges facing Ecuador in its foreign policy, such as relations with its neighbors, regional integration, diversification of its trade partners and the promotion of its interests in international forums, highlighting the importance of strengthening diplomacy and international cooperation as tools to meet these challenges.
Our students had the opportunity to interact directly with Vice Minister Játiva, asking questions and sharing their concerns about various foreign policy issues. Carlos Játiva responded with clarity and depth, generating an enriching and stimulating debate.
